How do I know if a supplement is good quality?
The truth is that it can be difficult. Supplements are not regulated by the FDA in the same way drugs are. They don't have to be pre-approved before they hit the market. I know…that seems wild! You can literally make a supplement in your garage, bottle it, and start selling it. As a result, quality control can be an issue.
The most important thing to look for on the bottle or website of any supplement company is that they are cGMP-certified. cGMP stands for “current good manufacturing practices”; it means that a third-party has tested the products to make sure that they are safe and contain what they say they do.
The second thing to look for is NSF-certification, which stands for “national sanitation foundation.” It ensures the manufacturing facility meets certain standards for sanitation and safety.
So if you're looking to buy supplements and wondering if they're high-quality, make sure they are both cGMP & NSF-certified.
All of our or oral supplements are both cGMP & NSF-certified. Our topical CBD balm is cGMP-certified.
